The Argo at Sandwich Marina
The Argo at Sandwich Marina

The Sandwich Marina in Sandwich, Massachusetts is known as the Gateway to Cape Cod and points north. It’s a seaside community of about 22,000 residents located in the northwest corner of Cape Cod in Barnstable County, Massachusetts.

Incorporated in 1639, Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod and one of the oldest towns in the United States, settled by European immigrants nearly 150 years before the American Revolution.

Sandwich is a quaint and quiet New England town with seaside charm. The Town’s historic charm and uniqueness, combined with its ideal location, make Sandwich an attractive place to visit.

Sandwich Marina

I stayed in Sandwich Marina when I brought the Argo down from Boston. I tied up on H Dock at the end and walked over to the harbormaster’s shack and paid for the night. In the morning I topped off the fuel tank and headed down the Cape Cod Canal.

The current in the canal is quite strong and you will want to time your passage through the canal with the tides. You must have a motor and it must be running the full time you are in the canal.
